Asset Management Knowledgebase Reference TID
The ZENworks
Asset Management Knowledgebase is a comprehensive set of
data that is at the core of the information provided by
ZENworks Asset Management. The Knowledgebase is built and
maintained by Novell and included as part of the product
itself. The Knowledgebase includes application "fingerprints"
and other reference information about IT hardware and software that
enable ZENworks Asset Management to discover, track and report IT
products and related attributes to help our customers answer key
questions related to IT management.
Updates (called
Product Recognition Updates, or PRUs) to the Knowledgebase are
released on a monthly basis and made available on the Novell
web site (add link to location here).
This purpose
of this TID is to act as a clearinghouse for other TIDs that help
our users understand, interpret and leverage the information
provided by ZENworks Asset Management. The following
TIDs discuss topics such as: software discovery and
recognition, versioning, and licensing.
