Situation

Many of our customers use tools from Autodesk and they have requested that we identify Network License installs for common CAD applications. Well, beginning with this month's Knowledgebase (PRU) update, ZENworks Asset Management will distinguish between installations that indicate a Network License install versus other types of installations.

Resolution

Recognition added in May 2007 PRU.
Autodesk fingerprints will capture the 'network license' copies of Autodesk products. Currently, we simply report the existence of Autodesk programs. With these new fingerprints, we will be able to distinguish which ones are 'network license' copies. The product names will show up like this, for example: AutoCAD 2004 (Network License).

Product Recognition Updates can be scheduled to run automatically or can be downloaded manually at https://download.novell.com . PRU's can be set up within the ZAM Manager for the Task server to check the site on a scheduled basis, and download and apply them automatically. Please refer to the Help Section for details of how to set up automatic PRU downloads if desired.Each interim release is cumulative.
