Using Productivity Features

This video shows how to set up Reflection the AutoComplete, Recent Typing, AutoExpand, and Spell Check Productivity features.

Most of these efficiency gains are being made in our Office applications. But with Reflection, you can realize these same gains in your legacy host applications.

Let's take a look at how you can use four of these productivity tools to improve your work experience.

Auto Complete remembers what you typed and offers suggestions when you start to type the word.

Auto Expand can be set up to expand abbreviations of words or phrases you frequently use. Just type the abbreviation and press the space bar.

Spell Check underlines misspelled words as you type them. To correct spelling, right click the misspelled word and choose the correct spelling.

Recent Typing adds the word you type to a list. You can enter words by typing them in the list. This is handy if you use cryptic commands. You can save the list in the session or open it to use with other sessions.

To set up these tools, open the Settings dialog box and select Configure Productivity Defaults.

You can enable or disable any of the settings:

For Recent Typing, you can configure the number of words and the minimum word length.

For Auto Complete, you can configure the types of suggestions to provide and when to provide them.
Also you can choose how to insert the suggestions.

To use Auto Expand, you'll need to enter the abbreviations you use and their definitions.

For spell Check, you can configure a number of options such as whether to ignore words in upper case or with numbers, maximum word length, and the dictionary you want to use.

You can also turn off productivity features for a particular field. For example, you'll probably want to disable productivity for a name field. To do this, just right click on the field and select Field Security.

Your productivity settings are saved in the session. After you set your session the way you want, you'll be able to use the tools you need to improve your efficiency.
