How do the "end of support" guidelines affect me?

The HP OpenView product version obsolescence guidelines affect you if you are not presently using a current or immediately preceding HP OpenView product version, the current HP OpenView Performance Agent version or the current HP OpenView GlancePlus version, or one of the few "grandfathered" HP OpenView products. If you are using an older version and it is scheduled for obsolescence, you have two options:
    1. Update to a newer version, or
    2. Remain on the older version as it is transitioned over time from Full Support to Maintenance Support and on to Self-Help Support
If you do not have an active support agreement that covers your products, the guidelines do not affect you. If you would like to either renew or purchase a support agreement for an HP OpenView product, please call your local HP Sales Representative, your HP Partner or visit our see-try-buy web site.

I just purchased a 3-year support agreement for my HP OpenView products. What will happen to my 3-year support agreement when the version I am using becomes obsolete?

Provided you are using either the current or immediately preceding version of an HP OpenView product, a 3-year support agreement is not affected by the guidelines. In order to benefit from both the added functionality as well as the enhanced support experience, HP OpenView encourages its customers to update to the current product version whenever possible.

I received an obsolescence notification, but I already updated to a newer version of the HP OpenView product it concerned. What should I do?

From a technical perspective, when you place new calls concerning the product, be sure to inform the support engineers that you have updated to a newer version. From a support agreement perspective, be sure your agreement(s) are appropriately updated at renewal time, reflecting newer product numbers (if applicable).
