Reflection Desktop for NonStop Add-On 16.1 and higher.

Use the HLLAPI interface to automate tasks between an application and the Reflection Desktop NonStop Add-on, the Tandem 6530 emulator.  HLLAPI is a powerful API that allows a developer to send keystrokes to the host, paste data onto the screen, capture data from the screen and provides mechanisms to ensure the PC application and Host application stay synchronized.

The HLLAPI documentation and samples are available at: https://download2.microfocus.com/fileinfo.asp?filename=HLLAPI_Help_Reflection_3.zip.

To configure Reflection Desktop NonStop to use HLLAPI, a short name must be provided.  This is done under Terminal Configuration -> Terminal Settings under the HLLAPI section.  The default is A.

If you are running a 64-bit version of a program (e.g., Microsoft Office 365 64-bit) that is trying to communicate with a 32-bit program (like Reflection Desktop) via HLLAPI, you will get an error that says “Couldn’t find ‘thllw3.dll’” (32-bit version of the HLLAPI DLL) even when the file appears to be in the correct location. In this case, you’ll want to switch to the 64-bit version of the DLL, thllw6.dll, to ensure your 64-bit program is communicating with a corresponding 64-bit DLL.  Please contact Micro Focus Technical Support for the 64-bit DLL.
