Environment

ZENworks Configuration Management 2017 Update 2

Situation

On Linux devices the installed ZCC Helper is not accepted by the server. The server requires a newer version of ZCC Helper and offers to download the already installed version.

Resolution

This is fixed in version ZENworks Configuration Management 2017 Update 3 - see KB 7023221 "ZENworks Configuration Management 2017 Update 3 update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://support.microfocus.com/kb/doc.php?id=7023221

Workaround:

1. On the primary server please go to the folder
Linux : /opt/novell/zenworks/install/downloads/tools
Windows : %zenworks_home%\install\downloads\tools

2. make a backup copy of the file
novell-zenworks-zcc-helper-17.2.0.865.msi

3. Rename the file novell-zenworks-zcc-helper-17.2.0.865.msi to novell-zenworks-zcc-helper-17.2.0.860.msi

Cause

There is a mismatch in the release number between the packages for Windows and Linux
novell-zenworks-zcc-helper-17.2.0-860.noarch.rpm
novell-zenworks-zcc-helper-17.2.0.865.msi

During the check the logic uses the release number of the MSI which is 865 as reference thus identifies the installed RPM (release 860) as older.
