Filr folders don't show any content for 2-3 minutes after Windows re-boot

Environment

Micro Focus Filr 3.2.1
Micro Focus Filr Desktop client for Windows

Situation

On some Windows 7, 8 and 10 systems, especially those that have a lot of applications that load at startup, the Filr Caching Service may fail to load as soon as the system starts up and it may take 2-3 minutes for it to start. The user will experience empty Filr folders as a result during the 2-3 minute time period.

If the user switches the Filr Caching Service (under Windows Services Panel) from "Automatic (Delayed Start)" to "Automatic", this problem is not observed.

Resolution

A fix for this issue is available for Windows 7 and 8 Desktop clients in the Filr 3.3 Update. With the fix in place, the Filr Caching Service will be set to "Automatic" start.

An equivalent fix for Windows 10  Desktop clients is not provided because it can re-introduce a Windows 10 specific startup issue that was addressed in Filr 3.2.1 Update (see TID 7021146 for more details). On Windows 10 systems, the Filr Caching Service will remain "Automatic (Delayed Start)".
