Environment

GWAVA 4 (all builds) on Netware and Linux

Situation

Spam and/or ham IMAP folders not processing messages

Resolution

Please review the following article before proceeding, in order to assure that IMAP is correctly setup on your POA(s):  https://support.microfocus.com/kb/doc.php?id=7021038

If your IMAP settings are correct on your POA, proceed with the following steps:

1)  Restart GWAVA

Shut down GWAVA completely, then start it again (gwavadn, then gwavaup (NetWare) or rcgwavaman stop, then rcgwavaman start (Linux).  Check your IMAP folders to see if messages are now being consumed.  Be patient.  This process may take a few minutes.

If restarting doesn't resolve the issue, continue to step 2

2)  Check Autoblocker for errors

GWAVA's Autoblocker module handles the IMAP connections to the feeders.  Usually when the IMAP folders aren't functioning, there will be visible errors on this module.  Check the Autoblocker Console in NetWare or the Autoblocker logs in Linux (.../GWAVA/services/logs/autoblocker/support).  An error message may point you to the problem

If there are no obvious errors, continue to step 3

3)  IMAP feeder configuration

You can verify your IMAP feeder settings in the GWAVA Management Console ---> Server/Scanner Managment ---> [servername] ---> Manage Scanners ---> [scannername] ---> Scanning Configuration ---> Antispam ---> Heuristics page.  The feeders are at the bottom of the page.  Verify that the GroupWise account, password, server, port and IMAP folders are correct.  To make a change to your settings, you'll have to delete the feeder (using the red X) and recreate it.  If in doubt, it never hurts to just delete both feeders, save your changes, then recreate them.
