Environment

GWAVA 4/4.5 up to build 125 on NetWare and Linux

Situation

Trying to update GWAVA manually

Resolution

Normally, GWAVA is updated through the online updater, located in your GWAVA Management Console (see article for more information:  https://support.microfocus.com/kb/doc.php?id=7019521).  This is the recommended method for updating.  If, however, you need to update GWAVA manually, you can follow these instructions:

For NetWare:

1)  Download the latest setup from www.gwava.com ---> Products ---> GWAVA 4.  GWAVA does not create stand-alone updates.  To update manually, you have to download the full install.

2)  Unzip the update to your server somewhere

3)  Use NWConfig to install the update.  The procedure is exactly the same as your inital installation.  Don't worry, all of your GWAVA configuration will remain intact during the update.  For more information on using NWConfig to install the update, please read the GWAVA 4 Installation Guide.  The pdf document is also located in your install or can be downloaded from support.gwava.com.

For Linux:

1)  Download the latest setup from www.gwava.com ---> Products ---> GWAVA 4.  GWAVA does not create stand-alone updates.  To update manually, you have to download the full install.

2)  Unzip the update

3)  Run the installation rpm.  The procedure is exactly the same as your inital installation.  Don't worry, all of your GWAVA configuration will remain intact during the update.  For more information on using installing an rpm, please read the GWAVA 4 Installation Guide.  The pdf document is located in your install or can be downloaded from support.gwava.com.
