Environment

  Gwava 4 NetWare 6.5 SP5+ LINUX OES, SLES9.3, SLES10.x Problem\

Situation

Things to consider when updating your GroupWise system with GWAVA installed

Resolution

1.  If using a GWIA scanner, make sure to backup your GWIA.cfg file (usually located in SYS:\SYSTEM) before the update.  A GroupWise update may replace this file.  If so, you'll want to copy the /SMTPHOME switch from your old GWIA.cfg to the new GWIA.cfg, otherwise mail will not be properly routed for GWAVA to scan.  The /SMTPHOME switch should have the path to your ...\GWIA\3rd directory.

2.  If using an MTA scanner, make sure to backup your MTA startup file (usually located in SYS:\SYSTEM and will be named something like this:  YOURDOMAINNAME.mta) before the update.  A GroupWise update may replace this file.  If so, you'll want to copy the GWAVA startup switches from your old MTA startup file to the new file.  The GWAVA startup switches are located at the bottom of the file and will all begin with /vs (e.g. /vsaction, /vstype, etc.).
