Environment

GWAVA 4 for Netware and Linux (all builds)

Situation

How to update a Groupwise system with a preexisting GWAVA 4 installation

Resolution

If you're using a GWIA scanner:

1)  After completing a GroupWise upgrade, make sure that your GWIA.cfg still contains an /SMTPHOME switch, which should point to your \GWIA\3rd directory (ex. /SMTPHOME - vol1:\domain\wpgate\gwia\3rd).

2)  If the Groupwise update removed this switch, then you'll want to add it manually.

3)  After adding the switch, your GroupWise Internet Agent (GWIA) must be restarted.

If you're using an MTA scanner:

1)  After completing a GroupWise upgrade, make sure that GWAVA's switches are still in your MTA startup file.  The GWAVA switches will all begin with /vs (ex. /vsaction, /vstype, /vsport, etc.).

2)  If these switches are not present, you'll want to add them manually.  You can copy them from a backup of your MTA startup file.  If no backup is available, please call Technical Support to get these switches.

3)  After adding these switches, you'll need to restart your MTA for these changes to take effect.
