Registration key on cross platform xplat causes device to lose registration

Environment

Novell ZENworks Configuration Management 11.4

Situation

Using a registration key on cross platform agent (Linux or Mac) causes device to go unmanaged.  initial-web-service file builds BEGIN CERTIFICATE repeated entries.

Resolution

This is fixed in version 11.4.2 - see KB 7017469 "ZENworks Configuration Management 11.4.2 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://support.microfocus.com/kb/doc.php?id=7017469

Workaround:  

Do not register the device using a key.

For devices already registered using key:

  1. Stop the ZENworks agent service:
    /etc/init.d/novell-zenworks-xplatzmd stop
  2. Replace the initial-web-service file at /etc/opt/novell/zenworks with one from a device having registered without a key.
