Situation
After applying Microsoft patch MS15-011 / KB Article ID 3000483, system performance when accessing applications, saving files, etc. on a network drive becomes much slower.
Slow performance occurs even if UNC Hardened Access is not configured / enabled.
After removing the patch, network performance returns to normal.
Resolution
Fixed in Novell Client 2 SP3 for Windows (IR10b) or later.

Workaround available prior to the fix becoming available:
To avoid the problem, remove the MS15-011 patch on affected systems.
One method to remove the MS15-11 patch is to execute this command:
wusa /uninstall /kb:3000483 /quiet /promptrestart
