Environment
Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2) Linux
Novell Open Enterprise Server 11 (OES 11) Linux
Novell CIFS for OES Linux
Novell Open Enterprise Server 11 (OES 11) Linux
Novell CIFS for OES Linux
Situation
When trying to map a drive to an OES server via CIFS, users may:
- get prompted for credentials (if using net use)
- not have the drive mapped (if via gui)
In checking the connection via ndstrace (or a packet trace), a -602 error is seen:
Jan 10 01:01:21 SVR1 CIFS[1087]: CRITICAL: AUTH: Failed to fetch SEV list for user cn=user1,ou=OU1,o=MyOrg [-602].
Jan 10 01:01:23 SVR1 CIFS[1087]: CRITICAL: AUTH: Failed to fetch SEV list for user cn=user1,ou=OU1,o=MyOrg [-602].
Upon retrying the operation, it works fine.
Resolution
A code fix is available in eDirectory 8.8.7 patch 2 (or later). This code has been released for OES11SP1 in the November 2012 maintenance.
For OES2SP3, eDirectory 8.8.7 is in testing and being readied for release into the maintenance channel (currently, no ETA).
For eDirectory 8.8.6, an FTF file may be available. Please contact Novell Technical Support to verify.
