Environment

Novell ZENworks 11 Configuration Management Support Pack 1 - ZCM 11 SP1 Policies
Novell ZENworks 11 Configuration Management Support Pack 1 - ZCM 11 SP1 ZENworks Control Center - ZCC

Situation

When creating a printer policy for an iPrint printer, and using an administrative account from the user source, the ZCM server goes into high utilization as soon as the icon for browsing the user source for a printer is clicked on. ZCC will also not browse the user source for printers, it just shows the top context in the user source and will not respond when trying to click to browse a lower context.

The server stays in this high utilization state and is very slow and unresponsive until the ZCM services are restarted.

Resolution

This is fixed in version 11.3 - see KB 7014213 "ZENworks Configuration Management 11.3 - update information and list of fixes", which can be found at https://support.microfocus.com/kb/doc.php?id=7014213

Workaround: When creating the policies with an administrative user that is not in the user source but is locally defined in ZCC, the policy is created and the contexts can be browsed without the server going into high utilization.
