Replace user source container not working to replace at higher level

Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management
Novell ZENworks 11 Configuration Management

Situation

Replace user source container with common parent does not work.
 
For example, if a user source had been configured as follows:
 
/LINUX-86-TREE/novell/ou1/ou11 ou11
/LINUX-86-TREE/novell/ou1/ou12 ou12
/LINUX-86-TREE/novell/ou2 ou2
/LINUX-86-TREE/novell/ou3 ou3
/LINUX-86-TREE/novell/ou4 ou4
/LINUX-86-TREE/novell/ou5 ou5
/LINUX-86-TREE/novell/ou6 ou6
 
Attempting to replace ou11 and ou12 with ou1 above will fail.
 
ERROR:
 
This dialog can replace one or more user contexts with a single context that is higher in the user source hierarchy.

One or more child containers have already been added.   Delete the child container to add the parent.
 
 

Resolution

For ZCM 11: This is fixed in version 11.1 - see KB 7008746 "ZENworks Configuration Management 11.1 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support

For ZCM 10.3: This is fixed in version 10.3.4 - see KB 7008244 "ZENworks Configuration Management 10.3.4 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support
 
Note:  After making the change it may take up to an hour before the user associations are seen again, but they were not lost.  This is a function of cache changes.
