ZENworks 11 error restarting services SEVERE: There was an error starting CASA Authentication Token Service.

Novell ZENworks 11 Configuration Management

Situation

Randomly, restarting services with novell-zenworks-configure -c Start shows error.
 
ERROR:
 
SEVERE: There was an error starting CASA Authentication Token Service

zcm 11.2.1 ERROR;ERROR_STARTING_SERVICE;/etc/init.d/casa

 

Resolution

This is fixed in version 11.1 - see KB 7008746 "ZENworks Configuration Management 11.1 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support
 
Workaround:
 
Ensure that the casa_atsd service is stopped:
 
/etc/init.d/casa_atsd status
Checking for casa_atsd   unused
 
When the service is NOT running, look for /var/lib/CASA/authtoken/svc/casaatsd.pid .  If it exists delete it and restart the service.
