Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management with Support Pack 2 - 10.2 Inventory
Situation
ZCM servers in high utilization.
ZCM agents in high utilization.
Hundreds or thousands of inventory scans uploaded to the servers (%ZENWORKS_HOME%\WORK\COLLECTION\INVENTORY\) for each ZCM agent.
Resolution
This is fixed in version 10.3.1 - see KB 7006265 "ZENworks Configuration Management 10.3.1 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support
Workaround:
Rebooting the workstation(s) stops the inventory scans from running.
Additional Information
COLW32.EXE running multiple times on the workstation. Killing one of the instances of COLW32.EXE results in more instances starting.
