Situation

Imaging fails on Lenovo R61 since June imaging update.  Can't bind IP e1000e or get DHCP.

Resolution

For ZCM 10.3.2: This is fixed in version 10.3.3 - see KB 7007641 "ZENworks Configuration Management 10.3.3 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support
 
For ZCM 11: This is fixed in version 11.1 - see KB 7008746 "ZENworks Configuration Management 11.1 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support
 
For ZDM7SP1IR4HP5: This is fixed in the ZENworks Imaging Update for January 2011- see KB 7002402 "How to obtain the latest ZENworks Imaging Updates" found at https://www.novell.com/support for details of how to obtain this update.
 
For ZLM7.3 IR3:  This is fixed in ZLM 7.3 Interim Release 4 - see KB 7003346 "Updates to Novell ZENworks 7.3 Linux Management" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support
 
Workaround: if it is not possible to upgrade to the above versions at this time, in the interim, Novell has made a Patch available for testing, in the form of a Field Test File (FTF): it can be obtained at https://download.novell.com/Download?buildid=2ST5RctToCs~ as "ZENworks imaging - Intel e1000e driver update post-October 2010". This Patch should only be applied if the symptoms above are being experienced, and are causing problems.

This Patch has had limited testing, and should not be used in a production system without first being checked in a test environment. Some Patches have specific requirements for deployment, it is very important to follow any instructions in the readme at the download site.
