Agent general refresh not occurring when IP address changes

Novell ZENworks Configuration Management 10.3


A general refresh does not occur on the device when its IP address changes. In some situations this can result in the device becoming temporarily unmanageable.  For example:
  1. User powers up laptop in Office A and receives address from DHCP
  2. Agent refreshes and information is sent to the database
  3. User walks from Office A to Meeting room B and receives address from wireless access point
  4. Administrators can no longer contact this ZCM agent because the database contains the "old" address of for that device

A user can manually trigger a full refresh from the device to update the database and allow remote management, policy enforcement, content delivery etc.
