Environment

Novell ZENworks Configuration Management 10.3

Situation

Dynamic groups whose criteria are based on inventory information have incorrect members.

For example:
  1. Create dynamic group for all users running Adobe Version 9
  2. List members
  3. Review the Inventory information for each member device
Some devices that did not currently have Adobe v9 installed would be in the group membership list. This is because they had the product installed at some point and it was present in their inventory history.

Resolution

This is fixed in version 10.3.1 - see KB 7006265 "ZENworks Configuration Management 10.3.1 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support
