Device Software Inventory is missing or not updating software products

Environment

Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management with Support Pack 1 - 10.1 Inventory
Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management with Support Pack 2 - 10.2 Inventory
Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management with Support Pack 3 - 10.3 Inventory

Situation

Device software inventory is not updating or is blank.  Only <HotFix> data will be included in the <Software> section of the device's inventory XML file.

To find the device's inventory XML files look here:
%ZENWORKS_HOME%\work\inventory

Resolution

This is fixed in version 10.3.1 - see KB 7006265 "ZENworks Configuration Management 10.3.1 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support


Additional Information

An exception was occurring in the collector during software collection that has been fixed.
