Unable to see Driver tab for Windows 7 or 8 page in Driver Store's iManager page

Environment

Novell iManager 2.7

Situation

Unable to see Driver tab in Driver Store's Properties in iManager
Unable to see the Windows 7 option within the available list of Windows operating systems.
Unable to see the Windows 8 option within the available list of Windows operating systems.
Driver tab is missing in driver store's Properties
ERROR: "System  Error Occurred" while creating a Printer object

Resolution

  1. Login to iManager by going to "https://IPAddress_of_server/nps/iManager.html".
  2. Select the "Configure" icon from the top of iManager.
  3. Expand "Plug-in Installation".
  4. Select "Installed Novell Plug-in Modules".
  5. Put a check mark in front of "iPrint Linux Management Plug-in" and click "Uninstall".
  6. Stop tomcat5 (rcnovell-tomcat5 stop )
  7. Once the iPrint plug-in has been uninstalled, delete /var/opt/novell/iManager/nps/portal/modules/iPrintX directory.
  8. Browse to /var/opt/novell/iManager/nps/WEB-INF/lib and delete iPrintAdmin.jar , iPrintIPP.jar and iPrintLib.jar
  9. Delete /var/opt/novell/iManager/nps/WEB-INF/modules/iPrintX directory.
  10. Browse to /var/opt/novell/tomcat5/ and delete the work directory. The work directory will be recreated after logging into iManager.
    • Note: for OES11, replace tomcat5 for tomcat6
  11. Start Tomcat5 (rcnovell-tomcat5 start )
  12. To install the latest iPrint plug-in for Linux: - Go to iManager | Configure | Plug-in Installation | Available Novell Plug-in Modules to obtain the latest iPrint plug-in for Linux.
    OR
    Go to Novell's download site, select iPrint in the Product or Technology drop down list, and click the Search button to search the latest NPMs for iPrint and read the instructions to download and install the plug-in in iManager.
  13. Copy the downloaded iPrint plugins to /var/opt/novell/iManager/nps/packages folder.
  14. Log in to iManager.
  15. On the initial iManager screen, there should be an indication of new modules available to install.
  16. Click install.
  17. From the displayed list of plug-ins, select the check box for the iPrint plug-in and click Install.
    A dialog displays indicating that the NPM has successfully installed.
  18. After installing the updated plug-in, restart Tomcat (rcnovell-tomcat5 restart ) and Apache (rcapache2 restart ).  

Cause

iManager has a bug of failing to properly remove the old plugin information when updating plugins.  Most iPrint updates come in the adding of new Windows operating system optionss in the driver store's tab.
