Printers not being found by Network Discovery

Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management with Support Pack 2 - 10.2 Discovery


When a network discovery runs, some printers are not being discovered.  This problem does not happen exclusively to any specific printers


This is fixed in version 10.2.2 - see KB 7004803 "ZENworks 10 Configuration Management 10.2.2 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at

Additional Information

The problem that is fixed with this bug is that the AlertingSubunitName value from the printer being discovered was too large for the field in the database.  This field size was increased for the fix.
There may be other printers that have values that are too large for other fields in the database, in which case please contact Novell Support if 10.2.2 does not allow all printers to be discovered.
