ZENworks database grows due to increasing NC_CompChanges table entries.
Resolution
This is fixed in version 11.2.3a - see KB 7011295 "ZENworks Configuration Management 11.2.3a - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://support.microfocus.com/kb/doc.php?id=7011295
Previous fix statements mentioned fixes in ZCM 11.1 and ZCM 10.3. However, the problem was still found under certain circumstances.
Additional Information
The growth happens in entries with the NC_CompChanges table that have a null value in the fieldid, fieldlabel, value1 and value2 fields. However, it is normal for the table to have these entries with the null values. It is just not normal for those entries to grow rapidly over time.
It is also normal for the NC_CompChanges table to be very large, especially in a large ZCM Inventory environment.
It is recommended to apply ZCM 11.2.3a instead of manually checking or modifying the NC_CompChanges table. Contact Novell Support to determine if this issue is occuring.
