Environment

Novell ZENworks 11 Configuration Management Authentication
Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management Authentication

Situation

If the password is changed while online (via Ctrl + Alt + Delete) then the next time the user logs in in locally the ZCM box appears and only accepts the old password.  Quite often even the old password is not accepted.

Resolution

This is fixed in version 11.3 - see KB 7014213 "ZENworks Configuration Management 11.3 - update information and list of fixes", which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support/7014213

Additional Information

Steps to Reproduce
  • Create a vanilla Windows 7 build
  • Install Novell Client and ZCM 10.3.x
  • Login on the network
  • Shutdown (disconnect from network)
  • Boot (user will be prompted for local ZCM credentials)
  • Restart again (offline) - ensure there is no prompt and everything is working as expected
  • Login online
  • Ctrl + Alt + Delete -> Change Passwords (ensure all resources highlighted)
  • Shutdown and Disconnect NIC cable
  • Login locally
Actual Results
  • The user is prompted via ZCM (old password sometimes works)
  • Running casacli -l (as system) shows the time stamp change but not the hash
Expected Results

  • Password should be cchanged in MiCasa
