Launch actions recur causing explorer hang

Environment

Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management with Support Pack 1 - 10.1

Situation

After double clicking on a bundle that has some launch action that runs as user or DAU (for example, to launch an exe or web browser window) the launch action comes up hundreds of times and takes focus causing Windows to become difficult to use.

Killing the explorer process allows the launch action to run successfully on subsequent attempts.

Resolution

This is fixed in version 10.1.3 - see KB 7002526 "ZENworks 10 Configuration Management 10.1.3" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support

Additional Information

Confirm that the user has ACL full control rights to the user temp directory (Documents and settings\user\Local Settings\Temp or whatever is defined for user temp directory).   If the user does not have these rights, the symptom will always occur.

However, in cases, the problem will occur even when the user does have rights to user temp directory.  In these cases, killing the explorer process in task manager and relaunching will resolve the issue.  For those cases, this issue is reported to Novell engineering.
