Situation
Users login with Microsoft Active Directory user account
Windows shows user name values different depending
When doing a "normal" online AD login, the user name is populated with the AD user account full name
When doing an offline AD login with a cached AD user account, the user name is populated with logon user id
Windows Server 2008 populates the login user ID using the same letter-case as the user typed the user account name
ZENworks Asset Management usage tracking records the user name differently for the same AD user account
It is hard to determine which user has been actually using which software

Resolution
This is fixed in version 11.2.1 - see KB 7010042 "ZENworks
Configuration Management 11.21 - update information and list of fixes"

With this fix, a new configuration option is added to ZENworks Asset Management usage tracking. If the following registry value is set, the lower-case user logon id will always be recorded for usage tracking:
HKLM\Software\Novell\ZCM\Usage: UMUserFullName(Reg_SZ)=0

Cause
ZENworks Asset Management usage tracking records the username as Windows logon populates it.
