Situation
Incorrect error message given about "no updates available" when
there is really a network configuration problem when ZCM server is
performing a System Update.
Resolution
Error message has been corrected to state:
"There was a failure when attempting to contact Novell Customer Center to retrieve available updates. Be sure that you have internet connectivity and that system update has been configured with the correct proxy information: Unable to resolve host name: secure-www.novell.com See the ZENworks Control Center log file (zcc.log) for the full stack trace."
This is fixed in version 10.1.3 - see KB 7002526 "ZENworks 10 Configuration Management 10.1.3" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support

Additional Information
If a SLES server is installed with the default DHCP option and the
administrator of the SLES server changed the IP configuration to
static and forgot to add the default gateway, after ZCM is
installed to the SLES server and a System Update is performed, the
ZCM server will give an error stating "no updates available".
