Cannot use rug to view policies associated to device

Environment

Novell ZENworks 7.2 Linux Management - ZLM7.2

Situation

Currently there is no "rug" command to view policies associated to a device.

Resolution

To obtain access to a hot patch with the fix for this problem, follow the instructions in KB 3469853 "Updates to Novell ZENworks 7.2 Linux Management" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support

Additional Information

rug now has new option "pl"
  • rug --help includes option pl (policy list)
  • rug pl --help displays detailed information on the option pl.
  • rug pl displays policies that are assigned to the devices

    a) #|Policy | Policy type| Last Enforced at | Next Enforced at

    b) if the policy is of type firefox/gconf/epiphiny/sled/nld/evolution
    then the next and last enforce will include User Login

    c) All other types will display the scheduled time assigned to the policies.
  • If rug pl is issued at the time of zmd starting it will display "Policymanager not intialized please try later."
