Situation

Full re-install of application and broken HKLM keys for 2nd user on workstation

After upgrading from ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management SP1 to ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management SP2, applications perform a full re-install for the second user to login to a workstation, causing the HKLM registry keys for the second user to be reset.

Resolution

For ZDM 6.5, fixed in zenlite.dll dated 7 Aug 2006 or newer in ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management SP2 IR1 or newer found at Novell Support .

For ZDM 7: Fixed in ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Service Pack 1 Interim Release 3a, available at Novell Downloads

Additional Information

The fix to the issue in KB 3449165 (formerly KB 10098468) caused the symptom described in this TID (3604091).
