Situation

Workstation associated MSI applications are not installing the user part of an MSI when a second user logs into the workstation.

Additional Information

Associate a MSI application to a workstation, login with a user (user A) and launch the application. If the application is launched the first time the user part and the machine part is installed from this MSI. When a second user (user B) logins to the workstation and launches the application, nothing happens which means that the user part is not installed when clicking on the application object.

When the Novell Application Launcher processes the MSI it determines whether the application was installed. In case of a workstation associated application, the Novell Application Launcher do not check the userhive, it only checks the local machine hive for the application GUID. In case a second user logs into the workstation and launches the application it will not install the user part from the MSI.
