Some Windows Mobile 5 devices hang when using Enhanced Password Settings with ZHM

Environment

Novell ZENworks 7 Handheld Management
Configuration:
  • ZHM7iMate K-Jam with the current ROM.
  • HP 6195
  • HTS TyTN

Situation

After applying any enhanced password settings using ZHM, the the device hangs and does not let the user enter a password.

Resolution

Fixed in ZENworks 7 Handheld Management Service Pack 1 Interim Release 3a, see KB 3829982 "Updates to Novell ZENworks 7 Handheld Management" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support

Additional Information

Note: Other Windows Mobile 5 devices tested do not show this problem.
For the problem devices, set the policy back to "No password restriction" and resynch the policy or reset the device to to switch it back to the device password system
