Situation
Starting in 2007, Daylight Saving Time will be extended by 4 weeks
in most U.S. and Canadian time zones. Daylight Saving Time will
begin the second Sunday in March (3 weeks earlier) and will end the
first Sunday in November (1 week later). This change complies with
a provision of the Energy Preservation Act of 2005 and affects all
U.S. time zones that observe Daylight Saving Time (DST). Many
Canadian provinces that share or border these time zones have also
announced plans to adopt this change.
Resolution
There are two scenarios to consider:
1. iChain Support Pack 5a applied. There are 2 possible fixes with iChain Support Pack 5a.
a) LOAD DSTSHIFT (https://support.microfocus.com/kb/doc.php?id=3397648&sliceId=SAL_Public&dialogID=29069835&stateId=1%200%201290325) on an iChain SP5a server (recommended approach)
b) Set the timezone to another timezone, do not hit apply - and move it back to the current timezone, then hit apply.
2. iChain support packs 3 and 4 applied:
Manually modify the iChain configuration file with the correct DST information.
The iChain configuration reads timezone info from the current.nas file. The following steps need to be performed to update the current.nas file (iChain config file) so that all time references are changed permanently:
a> Bring up the iChain management GUI
b> Access the system -> timezone tab
c> Make sure that the 'adjust clock for daylight savings time' is enabled
d> Input the new dates for relevant US and Canadian time zones
e> Apply the changes

Additional Information
The timezone configuration, taken from current.nas, is stored in a
number of files, and the local eDirectory on the iChain server. The
timezone start and end settings are stored in DSSTART.SDL and
DSEND.SDL.
