Situation

Logging in to Radius gives:

Error: "Unknown Radius Client" on Novell Radius Services screen.
Error: "Access Request Dropped" on Novell Radius Services screen.

Resolution

The server running Radius did not have the "The container holding the DAS (Dial Access System) object and profiles" replica.
Add, "The container holding the DAS (Dial Access System) object and profiles", replica to the server running Radius.

The RADIUS Service requires a replica or replica's of three containers to operate properly :
  1. The container holding the DAS (Dial Access System) object and profiles
  2. The container holding the users that will be authenticating
  3. The security container (for the NMAS Methods and Login Policy objects)
These three containers are requirements. The RADIUS Servicemayoperate without them, but intermittent errors (or a nonfunctional RADIUS service) may ensue.
