Environment
Novell ZENworks Desktop Management 7 - ZDM7 Application Launcher (NAL)
Novell ZENworks Desktop Management 6.5 - ZDM6.5 Application Launcher (NAL)
Situation
Application Folder is not removed from the application.
Resolution
Workaround: If the path is modified, it removes both and the folder does become a custom folder.
For ZDM7: Fixed in ZENworks 7 with SP1 Desktop Management, available at Novell Downloads
For ZDM6.5: Fixed in Novell ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management Support Pack 2 Interim Release 1 - see KB 3665027 "Updates to Novell ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management" at Novell Support
Additional Information
Steps to duplicate:
1. Create an application folder object with a directory structure of \test
2. Create an application object and link it to app folder object to the \test folder.
3. Save all changes
4. In the app object go to Identification->Folders, highlight the "Modify
Selected Folder" path and hit the space bar. A message comes up about
custom folders. Say Yes to the message but don't change the path.
It appears that it has changed to a custom folder but upon reopening the application object, they still appear linked. If the app folder object, the app is gone. So, it removes one back-link but not the other.
