Version 8.00 of the Microsoft Enterprise Servers SPI includes enhancements and defect repairs. For more information, see "Enhancements and Fixes" section. For installing and using the product, print and read the HP Operations Smart Plug-in for Microsoft Enterprise Servers Installation and Configuration Guide, 8.00, and refer to the online help.

For installation (and/or) upgrade and configuration: Print and read the HP Operations Smart Plug-in for Microsoft Enterprise Servers Installation and Configuration Guide located in the \Documentation\SPI Guides\ directory on the HP Operations Smart Plug-ins DVD. You can also find detailed information in the Microsoft Enterprise Servers SPI online help after you install the product.
Upgrade note: After you upgrade the Microsoft Enterprise Servers SPI from the previous version, all nodes must be managed by the latest version of the Microsoft Enterprise Servers SPI. Different Microsoft Enterprise Servers nodes cannot be managed by different versions of the Microsoft Enterprise Servers SPI.
Upgrading the agent: If you want to upgrade the DCE agent on an existing node to an HTTPS agent, you must apply the necessary hotfix on the node. To obtain the hotfix necessary for DCE-to-HTTPS agent migration, contact HP Software Support. You can visit the HP Software Support Online and submit a support case to obtain the hotfix.
Post-uninstall note: After you uninstall Microsoft Enterprise Servers SPI, you will need to manually delete the Microsoft Enterprise Servers SPI policies from the HPOM console.
Before installing the Microsoft Enterprise Servers SPI, ensure to fulfill the following hardware and software requirements:

This release of the Microsoft Enterprise Servers SPI contains the following problems and limitations:
(1) Limitation: The MSES_BTS_DB_Configuration Tool tool cannot be launched from a remote console
The MSES_BTS_DB_Configuration Tool tool cannot be launched from a remote console, it can only be launched from the management server.
(2) Limitation: Microsoft Enterprise Servers SPI metrics have a limit beyond which values cannot be stored in HP Performance Agent classes.

Workaround: None
(3) Limitation: If, in a record, one of the Microsoft Enterprise Servers SPI metrics exceeds limit (metrics mentioned in the above tables), the entire record does not get logged into the Microsoft Enterprise Servers HP Performance Agent class.
For example, if the record to be logged is Mementos1~1098~Failure~6723419876540987654~1.5~True, then, this entire record will not be logged into the Enterprise Servers HP Performance Agent Class, as the 4th metric exceeds the limit.
Workaround: None
(4) Limitation: Microsoft Enterprise Servers SPI Graphs
If you are using HP Performance Agent (HP PA) for logging data on the managed node, the Microsoft Enterprise Servers SPI graphs show incorrect data for such nodes.
Workaround: None
There are no known errors in the Microsoft Enterpirse Servers SPI documentation.
