Following are the new features of HP SIM Integration 1.30:
Version Verify and Self-Healing Info tool fail on an agent running as non-root user
Symptom: The HPOM message browser displays the following incomplete message:
For further information click on the event details link below.
Description: This message appears if the version of HP SIM is lower than 5.0 SP5.
Action: Upgrade the version of HP SIM to version 5.0 with Service Pack 5.0 or above.
Symptom: Get HP SIM Credentials tool does not work in HPOM Remote Console.
Action: Run the tool from HPOM Console instead of Remote Console.
The Version Verify and Self-Healing Info tools failing on agent running as non-root userSymptom:
When the OM Agent is migrated from root user to non-root user, the
Version Verify and Self-Healing Info fails with the following
error.
Cannot open collector output file "/tmp/SIM_INT/SIM_INT.xml"
for writing
Action:
If the OM Agent
is migrated from root user to non-root user, delete or rename the
HP SIM
Integration files or directories from
/tmp
folder
on the node that is created by the root user.
Service discovery fails after SPI upgrade
Symptom: Service discovery fails after SPI upgrade.
Action: Repeat the following steps on managed nodes where service discovery is failing.
Step 1: Select the managed node from the node tree, right click and select view -> Policy Inventory. This would list all the policies in that node.In case of HP SIM and HP SE SRM integrated setup, events from HP SE SRM Infrastructure, though the messages may be similar, will not be suppressed in the HP OM Message Browser because of the uniqueness in message key.
In case of HP SIM and HP SE SRM integrated setup, events from HP SE SRM Infrastructure, which are acknowledged on HPOM browser, will get cleared on HP SIM GUI. But the HP SE SRM Infrastructure events that are cleared manually from the HPSIM GUI will not get auto acknowledged on HPOM message browser.
