HP Operations Smart Plug-in for Cluster Infrastructure contains the following feature enhancements:
Before installing the Cluster Infrastructure SPI, make sure that your system meets the following minimum requirements for HPOM management server and managed nodes. To know more about the supported operating system architectures, supported operating system release versions, required patches, and recent updates, visit the support matrix URL: HP Software Support Matrix.
The Infrastructure SPIs are supported on HPOM for Windows, HP-UX, Linux, and Solaris operating systems. The following table lists HPOM requirements and the HP Software products you must install on the management server. The patches mentioned are the minimum applicable level. Always apply the latest available patches.

This release of CI SPI has the following limitations:
The known problems and workarounds for this release of Cluster Infrastructure SPI are listed below:
Workaround: Before you edit or customize the instrumentation scripts, remove the Ctrl-M(^M) characters using the following OS command as appropriate:
- On HP-UX, Solaris, Linux, and AIX system run the following command: sed –i “s/^M//g”
Note that ^M is NOT SHIFT+6 + M. Type CTRL+V+M to run the command.
- Alternatively, on Linux system you can run the following: dos2unix (or other such utility on the scripts).
Workaround: To manually update the hearbeat polling protocol for the SNMP node to ICMP, follow these steps:
- In the HPOM for Windows management server console, right-click the SNMP node.
- Choose Properties from the pop-up menu.
- Select the Network tab.
- Under Heartbeat Polling, change the value of Polling to "custom" and the value of Ping Protocol to "ICMP Only".
- Click Apply and then click OK.
Problem: CLUSTER_LOCAL_NODENAME should be automatically set in conf.cluster namespace during agent installation on a cluster. For more information, see QCCR1A10498
Workaround: Manually set the XPL config for CLUSTER_LOCAL_NODENAME on all clusters before deploying CI SPI policies. Otherwise, if you run ovclusterinfo –a command, the error appears as cannot get cluster state from the local machine. Before deploying the CI SPI policies on the cluster nodes, follow these steps to set the XPL config:
Check if the namespace conf.cluster is created in the nodeinfo file(XPL). Type: # ovconfget conf.cluster
The namespace should have the following 3 entries
[conf.cluster]
CLUSTER_TYPE=AIX Cluster (HACMP)
MONITOR_MODE=TRUE
POLLING_INTERVAL=10000If these values are not present, restart ovconfd. Run the command: # ovc -restart ovconfd.
Add CLUSTER_LOCAL_NODENAME along with the hostname configured in the cluster below these entries. For example, CLUSTER_LOCAL_NODENAME=testsun1
Here testsun1 is the name configured in the HA cluster configuration.
Problem: When you install Infra SPI 2.01 on HPOM for Solaris, the error appears as
/etc/opt/OV/share/conf/OpC/mgmt_sv/integration/cfgupld
/post/cvp
_upload.sh:
[[: not found. For more information, see QCCR1A126296.
Workaround: Follow these steps:
Replace #!/bin/sh
in the script by #!/usr/xpg4/bin/sh
.
If needed, repeat step 1 in the following script:
/etc/opt/OV/share/conf/OpC/mgmt_sv/integration/*/*/cvp
_*.sh
Note: /usr/xpg4/bin/sh
should be available on all Solaris systems as it is used in all the OM script (for example, /opt/OV/bin/OpC
).
