Resolution: The message text has been aligned for the following policies: - CTXSPI-ChkPSUserLogonProcess - CTXSPI-ChkPSUserLogonProcessCompleted - CTXSPI-ChkPSUserLogonProcessPh1 - CTXSPI-ChkPSUserLogonProcessPh2 - CTXSPI-ChkPSUserLogonProcessPh3 - CTXSPI-ChkPSUserLogonProcessPh4 - CTXSPI-ChkPSUserLogonProcessPh5 CTX00552 -------- Symptom: Monitoring Citrix Secure Gateway 2.0 and Web Interface 3.0 should be removed. Due to architecture differences between the older and the newer versions of these two products, most of the monitoring functionality is not applicable to the older version. Resolution: Support for Citrix Secure Gateway 2.0 and Web Interface 3.0 has been discontinued. CTX00799 -------- Symptom: The following graphs do not have descriptions: - Device disk cache size - Device RAM disk utilization - PVS Network traffic Resolution: Descriptions have been added to these three graphs. CTX00837 -------- Symptom: Presentation Server and XenApp tool groups should be merged into one tool group. Resolution: All Presentation Server and XenApp tools are grouped in one XenApp tool group now. CTX00838 -------- Symptom: There are several policy and node groups defined for managing one Citrix product. They are separated by product versions. Because there are no differences between these groups from the management perspective, it is better to merge such groups into one for usability reasons. Resolution: The configuration has been simplified. The new policy groups are: - CTXSPI-Application Probing Server - CTXSPI-Citrix License Server - CTXSPI-Desktop Delivery Controller - CTXSPI-Provisioning Server - CTXSPI-Secure Gateway - CTXSPI-SPI Licensing - CTXSPI-Web Interface - CTXSPI-XenApp The new node groups are: - CTXSPI-ApplicationProbingServer - CTXSPI-CitrixLicenseServer - CTXSPI-DesktopDeliveryController - CTXSPI-ProvisioningServer - CTXSPI-SecureGateway - CTXSPI-WebInterface - CTXSPI-XenApp CTX00844 -------- Symptom: Message action attributes of the "running" and "not running" thresholds in service monitoring policies are not consistent. Resolution: Message action attributes of the following policies have been made consistent: - CTXSPI-ChkCitrixLSServices - CTXSPI-ChkCitrixSGService - CTXSPI-ChkCitrixXAServices - CTXSPI-ChkDDCServices - CTXSPI-ChkOsAndTSServices - CTXSPI-ChkPVSServices CTX00845 -------- Symptom: The following Application event log sources should be monitored on the Web Interface managed node: - Citrix Delivery Services Protocol Transition Service - Citrix Web Interface - Citrix Web Interface XenApp Services - Web Interface Resolution: The following policies have been created to monitor for the events listed above: - CTXSPI-FwdCitrixWIAppInfo - CTXSPI-FwdCitrixWIAppWarnError Monitoring for some of these events has been removed in the following policies: - CTXSPI-FwdCitrixDDCAppInfo - CTXSPI-FwdCitrixDDCAppWarnError CTX00849 -------- Symptom: Network load is the most common bottleneck on the Provision Server. Network load policies should therefore be moved from the Additional to the Quick Start group. Resolution: The following policies have been moved from the "CTXSPI-PVS5 Additional" group to the "CTXSPI-PVS5 Quick Start / CTXSPI-PVS5 Network" group: - CTXSPI-ChkNetworkLoad - CTXSPI-ChkNetworkTraffic CTX00857 -------- Symptom: Event log policies do not send a message if the event log source is not found on a managed node. Resolution: All event log policies send a message in this circumstance now. CTX00865 -------- Symptom: Application name in the message is not consistent for all policies. Resolution: "SPI for Citrix" is used for the application name everywhere now. CTX00870 -------- Symptom: A failure message is missing in the following policies: - CTXSPI-DisconnectSessions - CTXSPI-LogOffSessions - CTXSPI-LogOffSessionsByUser - CTXSPI-LogProfile - CTXSPI-LogProfiles Resolution: The policies have the failure message specified now. CTX00875 -------- Symptom: All event log monitoring policies should provide more meaningful information in the message attributes. Resolution: All messages now contain event source and event ID. CTX00888 -------- Symptom: Hour, day, and month intervals are not necessary in the schedule of the following policies: - CTXSPI-AppAvailStartAllApps - CTXSPI-AppAvailStartNextApp - CTXSPI-DisconnectSessions - CTXSPI-LogAppAvail - CTXSPI-LogApps - CTXSPI-LogOffSessions - CTXSPI-LogOffSessionsByUser - CTXSPI-PVSServicesLogging - CTXSPI-ServerConfigLogging - CTXSPI-ServicesLogging - CTXSPI-SessionsExLogging - CTXSPI-SessionsICALogging - CTXSPI-SessionsTSSLogging Resolution: Unnecessary intervals have been removed from these policies. CTX00896 -------- Symptom: The following policies have different schedule intervals defined on HPOM/W and HPOM/U: - CTXSPI-AppAvailStartAllApps - CTXSPI-ChkDesktopUtilization - CTXSPI-ChkIdleDesktops - CTXSPI-ChkSessionsDown - CTXSPI-ChkXDSessionsActive - CTXSPI-DisconnectSessions - CTXSPI-LogOffSessions - CTXSPI-LogOffSessionsByUser - CTXSPI-LogonThrottler - CTXSPI-LogProfile - CTXSPI-LogProfiles - CTXSPI-PVSServicesLogging Resolution: The schedule intervals are consistent now. CTX00899 -------- Symptom: The following policies should not monitor "Console", "Session 0", "Idle", or "Services" sessions: - CTXSPI-ChkSessionHandleCount - CTXSPI-ChkSessionPageFileBytes - CTXSPI-ChkSessionProcessorTime - CTXSPI-ChkSessionThreadCount - CTXSPI-ChkSessionTotalBytes - CTXSPI-ChkSessionTotalErrors - CTXSPI-ChkSessionTotalFrames - CTXSPI-ChkSessionTotalTimeouts - CTXSPI-ChkSessionTotalTransportErrors - CTXSPI-ChkSessionWorkingSet Resolution: The policies do not monitor these sessions anymore. CTX00945 -------- Symptom: The following two policies do not work on Secure Gateway 3.2 because performance counter names have been renamed: - CTXSPI-SG3-ChkTotalPendingConnections - CTXSPI-SG3-ChkSSLHandshakesPending The new counter names of the Secure Gateway performance object are: - Connections: Ping (was: Connections: Pending) - SSL Handshakes: Ping (was: SSL Handshakes: Pending) Resolution: The policies have been moved from the Quick Start into the Advanced policy group, where two new policies have been added: - CTXSPI-SG32-ChkTotalPendingConnections (for Connections: Ping) - CTXSPI-SG32-ChkSSLHandshakesPending (for SSL Handshakes: Ping) CTX00946 -------- Symptom: The performance data collection fails on Secure Gateway 3.2 due to the two performance counters being renamed on this particular version. The new counter names of the Secure Gateway performance object are: - Connections: Ping (was: Connections: Pending) - SSL Handshakes: Ping (was: SSL Handshakes: Pending) Resolution: The performance counter rename is supported now. CTX00964 -------- Symptom: Some tools, the subagent registration tool in particular, do not work if they are invoked with "ovdeploy". They expect that the current directory is set to the instrumentation directory, instead "ovdeploy" sets it to: %ProgramFiles%\HP OpenView\data\installation\incoming\files\ Resolution: The following tools work with "ovdeploy" now: - CTXSPI-Disable Application in Farm - CTXSPI-Disconnect All Application Sessions in Farm - CTXSPI-Display Application Information in Farm - CTXSPI-Display Application Sessions in Farm - CTXSPI-Enable Application in Farm - CTXSPI-Find User Sessions in Farm - CTXSPI-Force Service Model Update - CTXSPI-Logoff All Application Sessions in Farm - CTXSPI-Register Subagent - CTXSPI-Send Message to Application Sessions in Farm CTX00973 -------- Symptom: All binaries should be digitally signed. Resolution: Installation package and all containing binaries are signed now. CTX01013 -------- Symptom: The messages of the following policies are not properly aligned and are missing the application name option: - CTXSPI-ChkFarmAvail - CTXSPI-ChkFarmAvailAppEnum - CTXSPI-ChkFarmAvailAppLB - CTXSPI-ChkFarmAvailCompleted Resolution: The messages of these policies are properly formatted now. CTX01017 -------- Symptom: Some graphs contain grammatical errors. Presentation Server graphs should be renamed to XenApp graphs, and graphs targeting Secure Gateway 2.0 should be removed. Resolution: The graphs have been properly updated. CTX01034 -------- Symptom: The following two graphs do not properly display the data that extends over the long period of time: - APS - Application Availability | Unavailable Applications - APS - Application Availability | Completed Phases Resolution: The graphs now display data every 5 minutes and only for one day. The marker that shows intervals when no data was available has been added. ________________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 4: Known Problems and Workarounds Before upgrading SPI for Citrix, remove the previously generated service map, otherwise the service map will not be (re)generated. ________________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 5: Compatibility and Installation Requirements Before installing SPI for Citrix, make sure that your system meets the software and hardware requirements. o Software Requirements See the SPI for Citrix - Supported Platforms document for details on compatibility and installation requirements for SPI for Citrix. o Hardware Requirements The HPOM Management Server and Managed Nodes hardware requirements can be found in the HP Operations Manager for Unix Installation Guide.
