Summary
RMAN-03009 failure of the allocate command on DP_TEST channel
Error
After upgrading DP from 10.03 to 10.80 on Oracle 12c client, backup start failing with error:
RMAN-03009 failure of the allocate command on DP_TEST channel
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
Cause
upon checking with the patch level of oracle server, we recognize that the oracle has not been updated from 2018.
Fix
after updating the 2019 patch. backup should start working
it looks like DP 10.80 is not compatible with oracle 12c with 2018 patch level
