The Inventory Discovery by Scanner jobs are scheduled to run twice a month. The job starts out fine and the progress bar goes continuously up to about 90%. Then it starts to jump back to smaller percentages and some nodes that have already completed appear in the Reached Probe state.

Answer
This can be caused if "live discovery" is enabled.
To solve this issue exclude the adapter's name 'InventoryDiscoveryByScanner' from live discovery.
Go to infrastructure setting module, search 'periodic' by name, if 'Enable periodic update of data flow tasks' is true, live discovery is enabled.
Add 'InventoryDiscoveryByScanner' to 'Exclude this adapter of periodic data flow task'. Make sure you use the exact spelling of the adapter name as this filed is case sensitive.
