SMAX Features and Benefits:
This SMAX release features the delivery of key customer enhancement requests as well as new asset management, software asset management, mobile device and integration features.
New Asset Management Features
- An analysis view provides a summary of expenses by cost center or cost type to better control costs and budgets
- A history tab allows you to maintain an audit log for expense lines
New Software Asset Management Features

VMWare license management
- Calculate compliance for VMware products including vCloud, vRealize and vShpere Suite as well as individual components
- Out-of-the-box license rules and metrics for VMware products

License compatibility matrix
- Reconciliation of licenses between versions based on utilization
- Software version matrix rules allow for the downgrade licenses based on utilization
- Graphical representation of license versions
Teams Integration
- Channel notifications from SMAX to MS Teams based on SMAX business rules and custom actions
- When a specific condition on a SMAX record is satisfied, send a notification message to a pre-established MS Teams channel.

- A War Room team and channel are create to collaborate on major incidents. When a major incident is created, a notification message is sent to the channel. When the incident is closed, a status update notification is sent to the channel
Native SACM
- Migration enhancements with new buttons in Suite Administration UI to get the status of the migration and to download the migration report, eliminates the need to use REST APIS or checking a log file
- Map Business Criticality field for Actual Service between SMAX and UCMD
Other New Features
- EWS OAuth2 is a new authentication option for mail server configuration, supporting outbound email notifications
- Emoji support for rich text fields and inbound emails
- Configurable administrator roles to define access on administrator menu entry level for granular access control

SMA-SM Features and Benefits:
The SMA Service Portal works with existing instances of Service Manager, enabling customers to take advantage of the modern SMA Service Portal and mobile app without requiring changes to Service Manager. The Service Portal can be deployed on-premise or in the cloud. Enhancements in this release include:
New Service Catalog and Portal (Mixed Mode) Features:
- Search history tracking - when you perform a search in the service portal, the system will track your search activity in the km search history table in Service Manager.
