Service Manager 9.70 comes with innovations, new capabilities and enhancements in many areas. In this release we introduce more than 20 new features and customer ideas, including the 64-bit platform, SLM visualization, and a scorecard. Here are the details:

New: 64-bit Platform Transformation
Unleash the full power of Service Manager

  • Service Manager Server 64-bit version for both Windows and Linux platform is available with this release. This platform upgrade to 64-bit provides improved performance, stability, usability and security:
    • The 4GB memory limitation for 32-bit applications no longer exists for 64-bit applications.
    • Cluster deployment has been simplified and can now be performed with less effort than before.
      • The default number of concurrent user sessions for each process has been increased from 50 to 250.
      • The certified range of concurrent user sessions for each process has been increased from 50-100 to 150-450.

New and improved: User Experience
Make IT agents and end users more productive

  • Service level management visualization provides progress bars in both the record list and the SLT View tab of Incident and Interaction. It displays  operation status in a visualized approach, which can help to achieve Operating Level Agreements (OLA) and Service Level Agreements (SLA) efficiently.
  • Users can easily reset a forgotten password based on their predefined security questions.
  • A new search box on top of the system navigator allows for faster search and navigation across Service Manager menu items.
  • Smart Email allows the system to create a Change Record upon the receipt of a new email message. Meanwhile, the system can update an Incident, an Interaction, or a Change Record when receiving a new email message of a particular format.

New: Health Monitoring
Extended enterprise readiness

  • With in-time and visualized Service Manager health information in Service Manager Scorecard, a system administrator can get the following information:
    • An overview of system scaling structure and the health information for each host.
    • An overview of applied license information
