The Operations Bridge 2020.10 release features enhancements to both classic and container deployment foundation (CDF) versions. We are introducing new Flash-independent administrative UIs in OBM, reporting and dashboard enhancements via COSO and OBR, improved anomaly detection with OBA, as well as improvements to Operations Agent, Operations Bridge Management Packs, and SiteScope.  For more details please read the sections below.

Automate AIOps and Consolidate Data

  • OBM Performance Dashboard leverages the power of Collect Once Store Once (COSO), Operations Bridge's centralized data lake, and now supports graphing data from an Operations Agent, SiteScope, or BPM stored in COSO.
  • Updated Operations Bridge Analytics (OBA) with new fast adapting baselines for improved anomaly detection, updated internal components, and consolidated hot fixes for improved performance.
  • New COSO sizing calculator now includes Data Center Automation (DCA) metrics, data retention, and large deployment examples.

Customize Dashboards and COSO Reporting

  • New BPM and composite infrastructure cross-domain reports provide insights into key operational data across your application, infrastructure, and network estate
    • New BPM synthetic transaction reports provide application monitoring summary and detailed information
    • New OBM-Network Operations Manager (NOM) composite reports provide a combined overview of availability, performance, and inventory details of the application, infrastructure, and network nodes, Top N spotlights, and contextual drill-down details
    • New OBM-Data Center Automation (DCA) composite reports provide detailed information about monitored nodes, including their utilization and vulnerability trend
  • Enhanced BVD Stakeholder dashboards allow dashboard grouping by categories and improve performance when displaying a large number of entries
  • New content management remote command line interface (CLIs)
  • Operations Bridge Reporter (OBR) - upgraded versions of Vertica and SAP Business Objects, now offering OS support for RHEL 7.7, 7.8, 8.0, OEL 7.7, SLES 15, and Windows 2019 – Data Centre & Standard Editions, and OBR now has Interactive Installation Assistance

Automated Hybrid IT Discovery and Monitoring

  • New HTML5-based OBM delivers an Adobe Flash independent user experience with a modern look and feel of OBM Administration UIs and Policy Editors UI components, with improved workflow, and usability
  • New OBM Administration UI enhancements:
    • Event filtering in Downtime Management now allows users to define different downtime behavior for different events
    • Ability to view filters in Automation UIs now allows forward or suppress/correlate events belonging to a certain view
    • State filters in Deployment Jobs UI optimized productivity when deploying to hundreds of agents
    • Event Browser Options UI allows to pre-set all options for operators
    • Aspect Editor enhancements, such as instrumentation built-in to the properties pane
    • Significant performance improvements, such as improved monitored node performance loading, reduced time to open policies 
  • OBM now easily exports all event details to Excel in Operator UI Event Browser
  • Enhanced and new command line interface (CLIs) in OBM for managing OBM Monitoring Automation configurations, Performance Dashboard, and event management tasks
  • OBM Performance Dashboard improvements that increase productivity and inform users outside OBM about important performance data
  • OBM Browser support for Firefox ESR 78, Latest Chrome, Microsoft Edge 80 or later (Chromium-based) and Safari 13.x
  • Agent Metric Collection (AMC) improvements for auto distribution of nodes across collector pods, improved initial history collection (30 days), new node monitoring capacity benchmark-tool, and now a single AMC can collect from more agents.
  • Operations Agent:
    • opcgeni REST WS custom certificate support
    • Configurable port range for agent processes
    • Improved opctrapi logging
    • Carbon Black coexistence
    • OS support for SLES 15 SP2 PPCLE and X64, Ubuntu 20.4, CentOS x64 7.8 and 8.2, OEL x64 7.8 and 8.2, and Debian x64 10.4
  • This release introduces newly expanded and simplified out-of-the-box OBM connector integrations:
    • Six new OBM Connectors for ServiceNow, AppDynamics, DynaTrace, Datadog, SolarWinds, and New Relic
    • A centralized platform to configure and manage all the 6 connectors, with out-of-the-box bi-directional integration with ServiceNow ITSM Solution
    • Central IT users can visualize APM topology, events, and metrics alongside server and network metrics enabling faster root cause analysis and improved Mean Time To Resolve (MTTR)
  • Operations Bridge Management Packs (MP):
    • New MP for Microsoft 365 that monitors the service health for all the Microsoft 365 Services, and activity and usage monitoring of OneDrive for Business, Outlook Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams
    • Microsoft SQL Server now has multiple enhancements and new discovery of backup file system and log file system, and new policies to monitor the overall status
    • Enhanced WebLogic MP to monitor WebLogic environments with enabled Domain Wide Administration
  • Updates in SiteScope 2020.10 provide:
    • New SiteScope local client can easily be downloaded from SiteScope browser login page, supports multiple SiteScope servers instances, improved usability, and performance, and now supports macOS users
    • New and enhanced APIs to further enable DevOps teams to automate their IT operation processes
    • Updated FIPS 140-2 Compliancy to meet US federal standards (enabled for standalone SiteScope deployments only)
    • Monitor improvements: added support for VMware ESXi 7.0, Web Script Monitor now supports Load Generator and VuGen 2020 SP2, added support for WebSphere MQ 9.2, and TLS 1.3 support added for URL Monitor family
    • WebUI support for Firefox ESR 78, Latest Chrome
  • Cloud Optimizer adds support for the latest versions of Operations Agent, OBM, OBR, and Vertica 10.0x on CentOS and RHEL 8.2
