Answer

Universal CMDB is released together with the latest version of Discovery and Integration Content Pack.

You can install a later Content Pack release by performing the following procedure:

Note When deploying a Content Pack, be aware that UCMDB will obey the settings configured for comparing and merging the new content with the existing content already deployed to UCMDB. You can find more information about the Compare and Merge functionality. Specifically, be aware of the settings required for merging packages and merging discovery scripts (see How to Merge Packages or Content Packs), as the default setting will simply overwrite content and NOT perform any merges.

  1. If the required Content Pack is available on the local file system of the UCMDB server, access Package Manager: Administration > Package Manager. Click the Install Content Pack sl cp install.png button to open the Install Content Pack dialog box. For details, see Package Manager Page.

  2. Select the Content Pack to install and click Install.

  3. Answer OK to the message.

    UCMDB begins to install the Content Pack.

    When installation is complete, a message is displayed with the results of the installation.

  4. If the required Content Pack is not available on the UCMDB server, access it from the ITOM Marketplace site. To access the site: Data Flow Management > UD Community.

  5. Download the zip file and extract it to the Universal CMDB Server root folder.

  6. In Package Manager, click Upload Content Pack sl upload cp.png to upload the Content Pack from the local file system and install on the server.
