SUPPORT COMMUNICATION - SECURITY BULLETIN
Potential Security Impact: File content disclosure / remote code execution in Apache Tomcat
VULNERABILITY SUMMARY
A vulnerability in Apache Tomcat was addressed by Service Manager. The vulnerability could be exploited to file content disclosure of the web application or remote code execution.
When using the Apache JServ Protocol (AJP), care must be taken when trusting incoming connections to Apache Tomcat. Tomcat treats AJP connections as having higher trust than, for example, a similar HTTP connection. If such connections are available to an attacker, they can be exploited in ways that may be surprising. For more details, please reference the CVE details at the following link.

RESOLUTION:
Micro Focus has made the following mitigation information available to resolve the vulnerability for the impacted versions of Service Manager components:
Perform the following steps to disable the AJP connector.
1. Locate the server.xml file in the embedded Tomcat.
For Server: <Server Installation directory>/RUN/tomcat/conf/server.xml
For Knowledge Management: <KM installation directory>/tomcat/conf/server.xml
For Release Control: <RC installation directory>/servers/<Server Node>/conf/server.xml
For SAP adapter: <SAP adapter installation directory>/tomcat/conf/server.xml
2. Open server.xml in a text editor and comment the AJP connector
<!-- <Connector port="8009" protocol="AJP/1.3" redirectPort="8443" />-->
3. Save the change.
4. Restart the component.
