Answer

Unable to login with dbdamin changed password in Vertica management console (MC):

To change the dbadmin password in Management console, please follow the steps:
1. Login into MC
2. Go to MC settings
3. Go to User management
4. Select required user, here it is dbadmin and generate new password by clicking on edit.
5. finally save the changes.
6. You can now relogin to check if the changes have been successful

If the newly changed password is not working -You can try restarting Management console by running below
/etc/init.d/vertica-consoled stop and then /etc/init.d/vertica-consoled start.

If the issue still perists ,please check if there is any error at  below logs and share with customer support team to look into it further:
/opt/vconsole/mcdb/derby/derby.log and /opt/vconsole/log/mc/mconsole.log

If you do not observe any errors in the logs then only solution is to reinstall Management console. Please make a note that the password of the MC super user cannot be changed.
