With the introduction of CMS 2019.05, the primary capabilities available with Configuration Manager (CM), and the additional capabilities provided with the Advanced Configuration Manager (ACM) license are now part of the standard CMS product.
With the transition away from Java and Flash-based user-interfaces, the capabilities of Configuration Manager (CM) have been included in the most recent CMS releases as a function of the UCMDB Foundation license that is available with the purchase of Universal Discovery or the 200-MDR license (as well as any of the ITOM suites).
Key functionalities of CM and ACM have been made available in the most recent CMS releases
- CMS 2019.02 - Baseline Policies and Compliance Reporting
- CMS 2019.05 – Topology Policies and Compliance Reporting
Configuration Manager (CM) and Advanced Configuration Manager (ACM) capabilities can be replicated using the policy, compliance and reporting features of CMS. The following table is a quick guide of how to replicate the CM and ACM features using CMS.

ACM |
Provided as a standard feature of the “Compliance Report Widget†that can be created and posted on the CMS homepage. Policies that provide the expected state of CIs (using both baseline and topology policy capabilities) can be applied against various views of discovered data, and the resulting “Compliance View†of this data can be posted as a widget on the CMS homepage. Widgets can be configured and displayed on a “per user†basis. |
Customers with active support contracts that include support for the UCMDB Foundation license are able to obtain these new capabilities via an update of their UCMDB environment to CMS 2019.05 or later as the ACM license is no longer required to provide this capability.
