version 4.1 of the Hadoop Developer Templates introduces the following updates:
- The format of the main HDFS-based configuration files in the Hadoop integrations have been changed from a basic properties (name/value pairs) structure to a more robust and well-defined XML schema.
- The configuration files have been updated to support additional Simple API settings for specifying the cache type and short FPE mode, to specify how downloaded items from the Key Server are cached and the behavior when short input values are processed.
- The documentation has been updated to explain how to run the Voltage Hive Generic UDFs under LLAP, which is a set of persistent daemons that execute fragments of Hive queries for better performance.
